Surendranagar is an administrative district in the state of Gujarat in India, situated around 22° 43' N latitude and 71° 43' E longitude containing the district headquarters. The population is approximately 1,515,148.[citation needed] Surendranagar is also known as Zalawad, as the city of Surendranagar was the home of many Zala Rajputs. Surendranagar City (including Wadhwan City) has about 400,000 inhabitants, and is known as the city of Hi-Tech Bungalows.
